Bahn mi. What did you call me?

Posted on June 17, 2010October 22, 2011 by Jacky Hackett
Before my encounter at the Chicago French Market I had never heard of bahn mi. A bahn mi is essentially a Vietnamese baguette, also referred to as the sandwich that is served on the baguette.  The sandwich typically includes pickled carrots, daikon, cucumbers, cilantro, chili peppers, spicy mayonnaise and a protein.
Now, I crave them. I was so excited to run across one today at the Daley Plaza Farmer’s market.  Rock ‘n Roll Noodle Company was offering a few varieties; I went with lemongrass. Delicious spicy goodness. A very satisfying lunch for $7. I couldn’t tell you what else they were offering on their menu, I didn’t look past the bahn mi.
I brought it back to work to eat at my desk while I caught up on my feeds and what is the first feed the list?  This one of course!
