Plum rum and habanero rosemary jam

Work Benefits {Food in Jars}

Posted on September 18, 2012April 8, 2014 by Jacky Hackett

I have lots of great benefits at my work, but none better than an instant message announcing “food in jars” for me.  Homemade food in jars.

Plum rum and habanero rosemary

Plum rum and Habanero rosemary jam.  Leah (my co-worker, friend, and favorite mommy blogger) generously made and delivered these beauties.

Sunday was a beautiful fall like day, ideal for grilling.  I slathered some plum rum on bone-in pork chops and topped the adult chops with a good dose of fresh ground pepper.  I heated the plum rum jam to make it more glaze like.

The grill master grilled them perfectly.  I served them up with some extra plum rum jam.

Goodness these were good, well I should say the jam is delicious!  It was great for breakfast too in my Greek yogurt, also delicious on a pb&j (my go-to pre-run breakfast).  I have not opened the Habanero rosemary yet, it is almost too pretty to eat, but I am sure I will find a way.  No recipes to share, you will have to hit Leah up for those.  Up next, plum rum duck tacos with jalapeño, stay tuned.  Thanks Leah!

      On Sunday, I made a grilled cheese sandwich with horseradish cheddar and the plum jam and I almost died from the goodness. That stuff is versatile.

        Oh, that sounds awesome! Hopefully I won’t eat it all before I get to trying that.

      Ha – I was just thinking that that habanero jam would be good in a grilled cheese!

      I wish my husband liked sweet with meat, but he doesn’t, but these sound and look amazeballs!
